Ho-ho-howling great Christmas 'Paw'rade to raise funds for hospice

Cheltenham

Sunday 1st December 2019

10.30 am

Venue: Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice

Dress your four legged furry friends in something festive this Christmas, and help a Gloucestershire hospice be there when it matters.

The first ever Christmas Dog Parade in support of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice is taking place and everyone is warmly welcome to put their best paw forward and join in the waggy tailed fun.

Organised by hospice volunteers and supported by Scamps, the Christmas Dog Parade takes place at the stunning Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice just outside Cheltenham, at 10.30am.

Both dogs and their owners are asked to wear something festive and take part in the short parade against the backdrop of the historic Grade II* Listed hospice building and 16 foot Christmas tree sparkling with over 1,000 white and blue lights.

Each dog taking part will receive their very own bespoke rosette, while their owners can keep warm with delicious food from The Woozy Pig and coffee from Kings Shots Coffee.

Miss Gloucester, Tamsin Grainger, will be judging the event and there will be prizes available for the best-dressed dogs and owners too!

Paulette Vallois is organising the event and will be attending with her daughter, Julia Thom, Grandson Henry Thom and three year old Shih Tzu/Poodle cross, Murphy. She said, “We already have our matching outfits planned for the Christmas Dog Parade, which is the first ever one for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice. I am really looking forward to seeing pet pooches dressed as Santa’s little helpers, Father Christmas and Rudolph as well as seeing the colourful knitted Christmas jumpers I’m sure many of our furry friends will be sporting.”

“We’re a nation of dog lovers, so I hope lots of people will come along for a brilliant day out with their four legged friends. We have a set number of spaces for the parade, so spaces are available on a first come first come basis and must be pre-registered online before the day.”

Registration is £5 minimum donation per dog, with all funds going to Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice and its expert and compassionate palliative care and bereavement support.

Registered dogs are asked to arrive at 10.30am before the parade start at 11am and bring proof of registration with them. There is not the opportunity to sign up dogs on the day.
