Social Cycling

Social Cycling

The aim is to have a chatty time whilst exploring the area around Gloucester by bike.

We don't race, as most of our outings are timed at 9mph.

We aim to have two stops (at least one in a pub) per journey.

You don't have to ride the whole journey loop.

Our outings are usually in the drier months.

Watch the newsletter and website for details when the rides will take place.

************** Our next ride **** Over hill and dale ************

Saturday’s (10/11/2018) ride is about 25 miles starting at the North Warehouse at 10:30 and cycling along National Cycle Route (NCN) 45 to Maisemore where we cross the A417 and take to the lanes over Woolridge Hill which will provide an opportunity to stop and admire the views. After the swift descent it is all quiet lanes to Chaseley where refreshments can be had at the Yew Tree Inn. We return on the lanes but at Tirley we cross over Haw Bridge and on to Wainlodes where we can refresh before tackling Wainlodes Hill. It is then a stretch on the A38 to turn off to return via the lanes through Sandhurst and back to Gloucester. You can join or leave the route at any time and we can alter the route if necessary. We would expect to be back in Gloucester by 15:00.

U3A and ride leaders cannot be held responsible for any personal injury, accident, loss, damage or public liability during rides organised on behalf of U3A.
