Top Ten Things To Do in August 2019

We're in the middle of the Summer Holiday. A prime time to relax, enjoy the weather and visit amazing places in and around Gloucestershire. We have put together a Top Ten Things to do in August just for you!
1. Family Fun Day at The London Inn
Back by popular demand Merlin the Magician. Hours of fun and entertainment for the kids. Punch and Judy show, balloon modelling, music and games
Free Tea Party and Bouncy castle and BBQ for the adults

2. Children's Art Activity Days and Nature in Art
Each themed activity is adapted and runs at three different times: 10.30 - 12pm: for 3 – 7 yrs, 1pm - 2.30pm: for 3 - 18 yrs and 3pm - 4.30pm: for 8 - 18 yrs.
From August 1st until August 29th a range of art activites are available to try! Foil art, rock art and wet felting are just a few of the arranged activites.
3. Severn Bore Safari
Get off the beaten track and join our expert warden in our 4x4 trailer and witness the changing tide as the Severn bore (tidal wave) washes over the estuary. Look out for birds as they’re pushed off the mudflats and find somewhere to roost. Followed by a full English breakfast in the Kingfisher Kitchen.

4. Watercolour Painting with Tetbury Goods Shed Arts Centre
Come along and learn about water colour techniques, look at existing water colour artists and find inspiration in the natural environment in a relaxed atmosphere. All materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish. Please contact Adele directly with any questions and to book your place

5. Phoenix Festival 2019
The Cotswolds only TOTALLY FREE music and arts festival, The Phoenix Festival is planning to return to the Abbey Grounds in Cirencester
24th & 25th August 2019.
6. Grandparents' Day at Berkeley Castle
Bring your grandchildren for an enjoyable and memorable day out.
Enjoy free entry (with each paying grandchild) and a complimentary hot drink (with any lunch purchased)
Running every Monday throughout August (excluding Monday 26th August)
7. Gruffalo and Stick Man Weekend at Cattle Country Adventure
The Gruffalo and Stick Man will be visiting Cattle Country for the first time on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August 2019.
They will be appearing together at 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00 and 15.00.
8. Cheltenham Science Group
The science centre will be open between 10am and 4pm throughout the whole of August (Closed Sundays and Mondays)
A range of guest workshops, activites and competitions are available throughout the month
9. Annual Gin Festival at The Strand
The Strand will be featuring more than 70 gins on the bar! Everyday they will feature a Gin of the Day. You’ll find Gin & Tonic cakes on the bar all festival, a Pimp your Gin Station for the duration and much more Gin related

10. Kings Jam Festival 2019
King’s Jam Festival 2019 is going to be the biggest FREE music event in Gloucester this Summer!
A festival celebrating Hip Hop and Urban culture highlighting Gloucester's talent in music, dance and art, featuring international and national artists. Made to happen with the help of The Music Works, Multi Styles Battle & Marketing Gloucester.
