Downpour Theatre Company presents their autumn tour of Macbeth, one of Shakespeare's most popular tragedies. Set in a bleak, dystopian land, Macbeth paints a nightmarish picture of what can happen when dark elemental forces corrupt the mind with ambition and greed.

As the victorious Macbeth returns home from a bloody civil war, he encounters three witches who offer him fantastical prophecies of his impending greatness; spurred on by these supernatural beings and the mortal politicking of his overly ambitious wife, Macbeth, a once respected and loyal Thane is driven to murder his king. Haunted by guilt and paranoia, Macbeth and his wife, are set on a bloody path that will ultimately lead to their destruction.

Conveyed using poetry of unsurpassed beauty and power, this 400 year old dark psychological Shakespearean thriller is as completely enthralling today as the day it was written.
