REVIEW: Soul Circus Festival Review

At the end of August every year, an unassuming field in Elmore becomes home to thousands of mindful yogis and peace seeking, dance loving people for 3 nights of the wonderful Soul Circus.

 

 

Soul Circus is a well being festival, where music, yoga and holistic therapies meet glitter, dance and delicious food. Ask any of the festival goers and they will tell you what a special experience the festival is. Most of the people that visit go year after year and i am one of them.

 

 

What Soul Circus gets so right, is offering something for everyone. There are hundreds of workshops available, all included in your ticket price. Workshops range from transformational breath work, to reggae yoga, to sexy solo salsa and meditation raves.

 

I started my mornings with a sound bath at the sonic sounds tent, a beautiful, relaxing experience that was enjoyed by so many. But if you fancied waking with a bang, there was a silent disco at the main tent, a running club or a pole and aerial workshop to get you ready for the day!

Around the lake at the rear of the festival are wood fired, salt hot tubs and a spa, including a sauna, massages on offer and ice bath rituals. There is a small extra charge for these, but they are absolutely worth the price! And while you're relaxing in the tub with a mud mask on your face, you can watch the paddleboard yogis on the lake as they master their practice and balance on water.

There are lots of vendors including sports wear, beautiful clothing, crystal jewellery and other holistic treatments including acuseeds and reflexology.

The food on offer was a great mixture of organic food with lots of vegan options available. I was a fan of the mixed dumplings!

Come evening, workout wear is swapped for sequins and glitter. The whole festival dances the night away, this years headline act being Groove Armada!

The campsite was well appointed. I decided to glamp this year and the tents were spacious and the field was peaceful. Shower and toilet facilities were clean and modern. There was always an active security presence on site that really made me feel safe too.

The atmosphere is welcoming, friendly and supportive. Strangers hug and new friendships are made.
Soul Circus is a special kind of festival and an annual reset for so many. I can return to my desk this week relaxed, confident and zen.
