REVIEW: Three Counties Food Festival

Malvern

Venue: Three Counties Show Ground, Malvern

I had the pleasure of visiting the Three Counties Food Festival in Malvern at the weekend, and what a treat it was!

I'm no stranger when it comes to food festivals and farmer's markets. I'd actually consider myself a bit of an expert, so when the opportunity arose to visit the Three Counties Food Festival in Malvern, I jumped at the opportunity to immerse myself in cookery demonstrations, to taste test the offerings at multiple artisan stalls and of course indulge in some lunch from some of the independent food vendors.

After a short shower at the start of the day, the weather was most definitely on our side. If you haven't already been, the three counties show ground is in the most glorious location. Plenty of space for multiple vendors and demonstrations, all surrounded by the gorgeous Malvern Hills. This was the perfect setting to explore and get involved in what was on offer.

The event offered numerous traders, that varied from Street food and bars to food and drink retail, to gift, craft, homewares and garden. There was also a cookery theatre, Wood carving demonstrations, Children's cookery school, live music, BBQ Demonstrations as well as entertainment for the youngsters, in the form of face painting, Circus school and Archery!

With so much to get stuck into, I decided to keep my fellow reviewers happy first, my 7 and 9 year old son's that joined me on the day. We spent some time in the free Art area where they made crowns and did some sensory painting! Followed by a quick stint in circus school to build up an appetite.

I signed them up for the childrens cookery school, which was fantastic! They made homemade pasta and learned about how to make different pasta shapes (this made for a delicious dinner later on) and also homemade ice cream, which I was barely able to taste as my 9 year old gobbled it all up!

Next, we moved onto visiting the Food and drink retail area. There was so much on offer and we spoke with many vendors and tried cheeses, biscuits and chocolates. All the vendors had huge knowledge about the products that they produced and it was lovely to interact with all of them. I came away with a bag full of goodies for later!

For lunch I indulged in some brisket tacos, my children went for the classic Nutella crepe and my husband went for the hot dog on offer. All were delicious and well priced.
There was a huge amount of food on offer to suit even the fussiest of eaters, it was quite hard to choose! Though with so much on offer, the queues were short and there was plenty space to sit and eat also.

REVIEW: Three Counties Food Festival

The celebrity chefs on offer included Matt Pritchard, Rosemary Shrager (who was fab!) and John Whaite. I would have loved to have visited all of their talks but I don't think the children would have allowed it!

All in all I would say that the Three Counties Food and Drink Festival is up there with one my favourites. It was clean, spacious, interesting vendors and exhibitors and something for all the family. I'll definitely be visiting again next year!
