August Gin Festival
7th - 13th August 2017
You may have noticed that here at the Strand we rather enjoy our Gin and our August Gin Festival is a firm fixture. So join us again as we celebrate all that is Gin for a whole week starting on 7th August.
This year our festival is going to be bigger and better than ever as we feature over 60 gins on our bar. At the weekend a number of distilleries will be here in our garden for you to peruse and sample their wares including Cotswolds, Shakespeare, Warner Edwards, Whitley Neil, JJ Whitley and Liverpool Gin. Plus we will be featuring some great accompaniments from Fever Tree.
On Wednesday 9th August local distillery Sibling will be here running their Gin Lab in our downstairs room. Come along and the team will introduce you to different gins and you can experiment with different flavours and botanicals. There will be limited numbers per session with the first session starting at 7pm and the second at 8pm.
On Thursday 10th August we have two events for you. Chase Distillery will be here in our bar, circulating and giving you the opportunity to taste their various gins. Plus for those of you who can’t get enough gin, then join us for our Gin & Dine 5 course dinner in our upstairs dining room, hosted by Majestic Wine. Five delicious courses all accompanied with a different gin (of course). The final details are being made to the menu, so watch this space for more information.
On Friday 11th come along for a Gin Masterclass with Cotswolds Distillery. This fantastic local distillery will join us in the garden (weather permitting) to tell you all you need to know to enjoy the perfect G & T.
There will be live music on Saturday 12th August with Slow Jin from 4-6pm. This appropriately named band 4-piece Blues/Rock band that have been wowing audiences since 2011. A fab bunch of talented musicians never fail to entertain.
Then on Sunday 13th August from 3-5pm Unhooked Duo will be here. You may remember this talented duo from last year and again they will delight us with classic covers and some new interpretations of some old favourites. A perfect backdrop to your gin supping.
And there’s much more…….sloe gin burgers, gin cupcakes, cocktails and some gin ales (yes really) to name but a few.
Keep you eyes peeled here as we continue to add more details of the festival.
You know what they say? When life throws you a lemon, make a gin and tonic or even better let us do it for you.
