17 April 2018

On Thursday 3 May 2017, elections will be held to determine who will represent Cheltenham Borough Council and parish councils for the next four years. The Notice of Election was published on Tuesday 27 March and this marked the start of the election period.

Cheltenham residents wishing to vote, who are not yet registered, need to register to vote online at by Tuesday 17 April 2018.
Residents who are registered should now have received their poll cards; if residents haven’t received a poll card, they can check by calling 01242 262626.

To be able to vote, residents need to have registered by Tuesday 17 April. It’s easy to do and only takes a few minutes online (you will need your National Insurance number when registering).

Anyone wishing to have a postal vote, postal proxy or to make changes to an existing postal vote for the elections on Thursday 3 May must return their application form by 5pm on Wednesday 18 April.

Residents wishing to apply for a proxy vote (except for emergency proxies) should return their application form by 5pm on Wednesday 25 April. A proxy vote is having someone vote on your behalf.
