Summer Schools 2017

Cheltenham

We have more summer schools and workshops over the summer than ever this year.  Click on the links for more details.  Hopefully there is something for everyone regardless of your level of experience and ability.

8th July - Life Drawing - £60
There is no better practice to improve your drawing skills than to work from the human form.  This all day Saturday workshop will enhance your practice and is a great way to build a portfolio.

11th - 13th July - Landscape - £170
Explore the art of landscape painting, seeing landscape in a new light with Jaynie Tricker. This year our Landscape Summer School is going to be in the beautiful Rococo Gardens in nearby Painswick.

15th July - Painting Workshop - £60
Working with our experienced tutors you will explore oils, acrylic and watercolour to find your preferred media and then spend the rest of the day completing a finished piece.

18th - 20th July - Print - £130
Experiment with the printing techniques of Collagraph, Lino and Etching processes, up to A2. Using your own or supplied content for inspiration.

25th-27th July - Life Drawing & Painting - £140
Develop your drawing skills in drawing the figure from observation. Explore a range of approaches, including lighting, scale, proportion and foreshortening in various media. Clay available for sculpting.

1st-3rd August - Mixed Media  - £130
Begin mixed media painting by collaging boards with different materials as a start point for mixed media painting.  Exploring an abundance of materials and techniques to create a finished piece.

4th-6th August - Portrait - £140
Using two models to develop observational drawing skills and go on to work in your chosen media with composition, colour and tone. Clay available for sculpting.

15th-17th August - Abstraction - £130
Led through exploratory processes from observational studies into abstraction.  Using still life to develop the process in a variety of techniques and materials, gaining confidence in creating your own creative path.

21st-22nd & 23rd-24th August - Children’s Art Club - £65
Fun projects that teach techniques and skills using different media in a professional studio working on inspiring topics with experienced CRB checked tutors (8 - 16 years).

29th - 30th August - Children’s Big Painting - £65
Working from observation, a fun workshop exploring paint, the use of colour and creating large scale pieces to take home (8 - 16 years).

5th - 7th September - Colour Explosion - £130
Using a variety of materials and techniques, explore the use of colour through guided discovery of the many colours you can make with just three.
