Gordon Duff & Jeremy Duncan
10 - 27 July 2019
Old buildings are Jeremy Duncan’s passion. He has found inspiration in great cities such as New York, Paris and London, and now close at hand, in Cheltenham. His work explores innate qualities that the subjects suggest, such as nobility, beauty, isolation or neglect.
A CERTAIN SLANT OF LIGHT, BY JEREMY DUNCAN
Jeremy Duncan has been showing for 30 years in group shows, including several times at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and was represented by a central London gallery (in Cork Street, Mayfair) for eight years from 2004 to 2012. In this exhibition we will see some fantastic examples of paintings inspired by his passion for old buildings.
NO HIDING PLACE, BY GORDON DUFF
Local entrepreneur Gordon Duff (owner of John Gordon’s whisky bar) has until recently painted predominantly in watercolour, acrylics and oils. He has now begun exploring pastels and portraiture, and in this exhibition we will see a selection of his most recent work.
PREVIEW: Tuesday 9th July, 6.30pm – 8pm
Join us the evening before the exhibition opens to enjoy a glass of wine from the bar, peruse the artworks and hear about the artists and their work from a mutual friend. Both artists will be in attendance so it will be a wonderful opportunity to explore their work in more detail.
The former Baptist chapel has been modernised and restored to create a fantastic, flexible arts space which will allow for an array of events.
