Gloucester History Festival at Chapel Arts
5 - 8 ,12 - 15 September 2018
Working in the University of Gloucestershire’s Cotswold Centre for History & Heritage, students in History are exhibiting research projects that explore our rich local heritage as part of this year’s Gloucester History Festival. This year’s projects explore the role of The Gastons field in the Battle of Tewkesbury (1471), creating historic walks of Gloucester, and various aspects of Cheltenham’s history from the suffragette movement, ‘slum’ clearances on the Lower High Street, to the impact and legacies of the First World War.
The former Baptist chapel has been modernised and restored to create a fantastic, flexible arts space which will allow for an array of events.
