Perks:

Living on the outskirts of London myself, travelling by train tends to be my typical choice of travel. This is because the trains to London are so constant, and I personally prefer having the space on the train to get work done using the tables and get food from the train if I wish too. Not only this, but if you book far enough in advance, tickets can be extremely cheap with a single costing only £12.

Drawbacks:

The only issue with this is that sometimes there isn't that many cheap tickets, or you have to be lucky to get a cheap ticket on the right day and time you wish to depart. However, if you are an avid traveller like me, investing in a railcard will always help keep the cost down if you have to book last minute!

National Express Coaches

 

Perks:

Travelling with National Express is an extremely popular way to travel, and not to mention the cheapest! Taking around 2hours and 30minutes at the least, you can travel from Cheltenham to Victoria Station in London for only £7 each way! Not only is this a great cost-cutter for travelling into London, but it is also relaxing, with no changes like trains so you can comfortably pack what you like without having to worry about lugging it around!

Drawbacks:

The drawbacks of travelling by coach is that you don't get the chance to stretch your legs or stop on the journey so you will have to be prepared food wise! Also, although you can get coaches that only take 2hrs 30mins to get into London, this varies, with some coaches taking an uncomfortable 3hrs 40mins to arrive.

Blackberry Cars: Taxi

Perks:

Travelling by taxi has to be the most convenient way to reach London. Not only can you get picked up from your house at your chosen time and date, but you can also get dropped off in London EXACTLY where you want to be! This option is a great relaxing way to travel with friends with no other people around if you like your privacy. 

Drawbacks:

It costs from £135 to travel by taxi, this vehicle would be a saloon able to hold 4 people with 2 big suitcases and 2 carry-ons. Although the cost is decent if you are splitting the fare between friends (£33), the cost alone is pretty expensive.
