A Cheltenham Author’s Debut Book Tops 2 Charts Within Hours, above Taylor Swift and Vivienne Westwood

Cheltenham

Sarah Tinks Cross, a Cheltenham-based, personal stylist released her debut book: 2nd SKIN, How to Manage Your Clothes and Be Stylish for a Lifetime, yesterday. At 11.08 the paperback was #1 on Amazon Best Sellers, fashion category.

Renowned personal stylist and wardrobe editor Sarah Tinks Cross was thrilled to announce the release of her highly anticipated debut book, ‘2nd SKIN, How to Manage Your Clothes and Be Stylish for a Lifetime’ but did not expect the chart position. The book took 18 months to write, and in that time, Sarah took over 200 photographs of women to collect a bank of ‘real women’ images ready to provide visuals to back up the teachings in her book to real women.

This compelling and practical guide is set to revolutionise how readers perceive and interact with their wardrobes, offering invaluable insights into maintaining style and confidence throughout a lifetime.

In the book, Sarah takes readers on a transformative journey that begins with understanding their bodies and the profound impact clothing can have on their mood and well-being. The book delves into the art of dressing with intention, providing readers with the tools to continually curate a wardrobe that serves their practical needs and sparks joy and self-assurance.

The 10 chapters cover topics such as,
• Coming to terms with a changing body.
• Shifting focus from individual garment style to head-to-toe outfit style.
• Mastering the art of maintaining a wardrobe that evolves with you and serves you well throughout a lifetime.

The accompanying imagery to the book is of all real women, ranging from UK size 8 to 24, heights 4’11” to 5’11”, and an age range spanning 30 years.

Empowerment Through Bothering to Dress Your Best
As a dedicated advocate for sustainable fashion and empowering women to dress with confidence, Sarah brings her expertise and passion to every page of 2nd SKIN. With a warm, engaging writing style, and the occasional quirk, she offers readers practical advice, inspiring stories, and actionable tips that make the journey to lifelong style enjoyable and attainable.

“Clothes hold the power to elevate your mood and well-being,” says Sarah. “Through 2nd SKIN, I aim to empower readers to take control of their wardrobes, embracing a sense of dressing that evolves with them for the better. Even when life throws in a curveball, opting out of getting dressed is not an option. If you choose not to care or are waiting for a change of circumstances your clothes will become depressing. If you choose to bother about what to wear, you will have an instant injection of daily joy every time you open your wardrobe door.”
