BBC Strictly judge collaborates with Cheltenham Entrepreneur in a showbiz fitness venture!

A mum from Gloucestershire found her way to collaborating with a judge from BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing' to create the latest craze in fitness, and a chance for women just like herself to dance with the star!
Danella Mercati, 47 and a mum of two from Cheltenham, is founder and Creative Director of musical theatre fitness company ChiChi Fit, and winner of the UK Enterprises most Empowering Health & Fitness Enterprise 2023 with ChiChi Fit’s showbiz dance workouts.

 

 

She says she is grateful to a 'certain FAB-U-LOUS' celebrity who played a pivotal role in these achievements.

 

 

For such a showbiz-centric workout, Danella made it her mission to collaborate with someone she felt embodied the fun and sparkle of her unique offering; enter Craig Revel Horwood. “The idea for a Musical Theatre Fitness inspired workout came to me when Strictly Come Dancing was on TV, starring Craig Revel Horwood, the judge everyone wants to impress. It took over 12 months to find a way of getting in front of him, and, when I finally did, (proud and scary moment), it paid off. I couldn’t quite believe how much he loved my idea and he quickly jumped on board.”

 

 

“Craig was instrumental in helping me set up and develop the ChiChi Fit programmes, acting as a valued mentor and giving me huge inspiration and belief. He may be known for his role as hard-to-please judge on 'Strictly', but he’s unbelievably kind, fun and supportive.”

ChiChi Fit is a fun and theatrical, showbiz fitness class. An innovative, empowering, fun way to work out. It’s dance fitness with a musical theatre twist, fusing the magic of Broadway with cardio and strength training for a full-body workout. Featuring hit songs from all the best musicals, you’ll work up a sweat to ‘Greased Lightning’ and kick your way, with glittery gold hats, through the finale of A Chorus Line. It’s the perfect workout for anyone who loves musicals as you get fit feeling like the star of the show. It is proving to have hugely beneficial mental-health benefits too, lifting spirits, adding sparkle to lives, and creating community and friendships.

Danella has trained over 100 instructors around the UK to teach ChiChi Fit so gradually more and more people will be able to enjoy the unique fitness experience. Danella herself, teaches weekly classes in Cheltenham for you to attend.

Following ChiChi Fit’s launch in 2018, Craig had to step away to attend to his busy schedule, but he recently made a triumphant return as ChiChi Fit's Ambassador, infusing ChiChi world with an extra dose of sparkle!

To celebrate his new role, Craig and Danella did a ChiChi Fit Masterclasses tour around the UK during the summer months. Theatre-lovers, Strictly Come Dancing lovers and fitness fans alike got the chance to attend a one-of-a-kind fitness class where they met, danced with, and had their photo taken with the star.

2024 is set to be exciting with more opportunities to shimmy and sparkle alongside Craig.
