Sue Ryder ‘balled’ over by support at annual festive fundraiser

 An incredible £32,000 has been raised at the annual Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Winter Ball, which saw the local community come together in a glittering show of support for the palliative and bereavement support charity. 

Guests arrived at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham, the prestigious venue for this year’s black-tie event, sponsored by Home and Botanic. The evening was filled with delicious food, live entertainment from Tommy & The Fuse, and a fabulous atmosphere of fundraising and giving back.

 

 

Further highlights from the night included a charity auction led by host and auctioneer Philip Allwood - star of Bargain Hunt, Flog It, and Dickinson’s Real Deal, with some incredible lots including Hospitality for four in the Directors Lounge at the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford next April going under the hammer. Guests also had the chance to take part in a champagne diamond raffle, kindly supported by RJ Spicer where one guest won a Diamond.

This is the eighth year the hospice has organised a charity Christmas celebration, which has now raised almost £200,000 for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.

Laura Jeffries, Senior Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, said: “We are absolutely overwhelmed by the support we received at this year’s Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice Winter Ball. The evening was a resounding success, filled with laughter, generosity, and a real sense of community spirit.

“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, donated, and made the event possible – from our incredible volunteers to the local businesses who contributed to our raffle and auction. A special thank you also goes to our sponsors, Home and Botanic, for their support. The funds raised – an incredible £32,000 will help us to continue to be there for families when it matters most."
