Yate’s newest care home honours Remembrance Sunday with local community walk and tribute to fallen h

A Yate care home joined local people to commemorate Remembrance Sunday with a heartfelt community walk.

Residents and team members at Care UK’s Ladden View, on Fletcher Road, joined local residents for the annual Remembrance Walk through Ladden Garden Village. As part of this special event, attendees walked a dedicated route marked by plaques along the village streets, each one named after fallen soldiers and personnel who served in the War.

The walk led participants along a one-hour loop to each commemorative plaque, where attendees paused to reflect and pay respects. The event concluded at Ladden View where residents, team members and guests gathered for refreshments and conversation.

Adding to the day’s significance, Ladden View had created a Purple Poppy Remembrance horse statue in its cafe – a symbol honouring animals that have served during wartime. The statue serves as a touching tribute to the courage and loyalty of animals in conflict.

Sarah Daly, Home Manager at Ladden View, said: “As a new care home in Yate, we’re deeply committed to becoming a cherished part of local life. It was a privilege to take part in this meaningful event alongside Ladden Garden Village and to display the beautiful purple poppy horse statue, which has touched the hearts of many of the residents and visitors.

“Remembrance Sunday is a poignant time for all of us, and walking through Ladden Garden Village to honour the lives of those who gave so much brings us together in remembrance. We could see how special the experience was for residents and the community who attended.”
