We’re especially thrilled to welcome Ellie Neate, a Gloucestershire-born soprano, back to her roots for this memorable performance. This concert offers a unique opportunity to hear her exceptional talent as she performs alongside the Gloucestershire Symphony Orchestra in the stunning setting of Gloucester Cathedral.

Ellie, a rising star in the classical world, has captivated audiences across the UK, with upcoming performances at Opera Rara, Scottish Opera, and Opera Holland Park. Her stunning voice and emotional depth have made her a truly captivating performer, and we’re thrilled to have her join us for this powerful, moving piece.

We are deeply honoured to be performing this concert in fond memory bassoonist, Quentin Haslam. We all miss his formidable talent, his kindness, his amazing breadth of musical knowledge and his unfailing and long lived loyalty to our orchestra. The evening features a rich and varied of fabulous programme of music that promises to captivate and inspire in his memory.

  • Haydn – Adagio from 'Surprise Symphony' (arranged for Bassoon Ensemble)

  • Godfrey – Lucy Long
  • Strauss – Four Last Songs
