Mighty Women from History and Science: puppet and craft activity session

Gloucester

Dates: 08/03/2025

Venue: The Folk of Gloucester, 99-103 Westgate Street

11am - 2pm

In recognition of International Women’s Day and British Science Week, we are inviting families to meet some of our greatest female trailblazers and heroines in puppet form! Let science communicator Sarah Snell-Pym introduce you to science pioneers Ada Lovelace, Mary Anning and Mary Leakey; hero nurses Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole; and Gloucester’s great queen Aethelfled.

Alongside this, kids can get hands-on with crafts and activities related to the life and work of these historical figures, including fossil hunting, snap circuits and cabbage chemistry!

This drop-in event is suitable for children aged 4 and above accompanied by an adult. Entry is free with a suggested donation of £2 per person to support the upkeep of our historic building.
