International Womens' Day tour:

Gloucester

Dates: 08/03/2025

Venue: The Folk of Gloucester, 99-103 Westgate Street

11am - 12:30pm

Explore our historic listed buildings in this special International Womens' Day character tour.

Damaris Deighton inherited one of the Folk of Gloucester's buildings from her father John Deighton, a surgeon, in 1640. This was at a time when owning property of any kind was highly unusual for women. On this special character tour, Damaris will welcome you into her home and give insights into life as a 17th-century female homeowner.

Our café and rustic garden are open for drinks, home-made snacks and light lunches. Drop in early to meet your guide, and relax after your tour. While there is full access to the café and garden, please note that the Tour itself takes around 90 minutes with many steps and staircases, so it is not suitable for those with limited mobility.

Tickets: £10.00 Adults, £4.00 Child under 16 accompanied by an adult.
