Berkeley site manager wins prestigious award

Gloucestershire

A site manager is celebrating after winning a Pride in the Job Award from the National Home Building Council for his work at a housing development in Berkeley, for the fourth time.

Alvin Woodhouse, a Site Manager from Gloucestershire, received the Pride in the Job Award for on-site management at the Redrow South West development Berkeley Dean in Berkeley, Gloucestershire

Running for 41 years, the NHBC’s Pride in the Job scheme is dedicated to recognising the industry’s very best performers and is a prestigious accolade that site managers aspire to achieve.

To receive an award, site managers must score highly in all areas of build and site management including quality of workmanship, technical expertise, health and safety and leadership. Judges look for meticulous attention to detail and the special qualities and attributes that set quality, award-winning site managers apart from the rest.

Alvin, who has worked for Redrow for 16 years, initially joining as a forklift driver, has been based at Berkeley Dene since its start in 2023.

Robert Phelps, Managing Director for Redrow South West, said: “We are thrilled that Alvin has received this accolade for his hard work and dedication. This is testament to the effort he has put into our fantastic Berkeley Dene development, and his passion for building high-quality homes which help to create thriving communities.

“A Pride in the Job Award is something that many site managers strive for, so it is truly an outstanding achievement and very well-deserved.”

Commenting on his award win, Alvin said: “Winning this award is a very proud moment for me. I strive to ensure that we deliver homes to the highest standard and provide homebuyers with properties they’ll love.

“I am incredibly thankful to work with a solid team which have a huge part to play in the success at Berkeley Dene, their support and dedication make achievements like this possible.”

Surrounded by picturesque countryside yet close to all the amenities and conveniences expected of 21st century living, Berkeley Dene offers the perfect combination of rural and suburban living. With an excellent selection of schools within easy reach, the development is the ideal place to set up a home.
